Happy anxious, wonderful, frustrating, hopeful, fearful, nail-biting Election Day. My polling place at a VFW Hall (Dilboy) in Davis Square, Somerville, Massachusetts, was packed this morning. The line went out the door and snaked around the corner and down the block. A great sign of a re-energized American democracy — at least for a day. Prospective voters sipped great big cups of Dunkin’ Donuts and read newspapers as they waited in the surprisingly cold morning to vote, most likely for our hometown boy (given the buttons and stickers people were wearing, I think that’s a safe bet). Off now to NH, with my pal John DeVillars, at least until class at 4:30 p.m.
